World Championship and World Age Group Games Wrap Up

Three Tasmanian gymnasts have returned from a successful Trampoline World Championship and World Age Games campaign.

Up first was Jack Penny who competed in the Senior Mens Synchronised Trampoline event, with partner Blake Rutherford from Queensland, where they made the finals in the prestigious world event. Jack from Kingborough Gymsports was attending his 7th World Championships with his coach, Ben Kelly, who also headed the DMT coaching team for the Championships.

Newcomers to the World Age Group Games, Matthew French and Flynn Caro also from Kingborough Gymsports, performed solid passes in the 17-21 age group and 15-16 age group respectively. Matthew French was successful in making the finals in his event and finished a credible 6th in his first ever World Age Group Games.

The Australian Team was also supported by 3 Tasmanian officials. Ben Kelly headed the Australian DMT team, while Jack Penny swapped his competition gear for judging attire in the World Age Games and Alison Morgan travelled as a trampoline judge to attend the World Age Games.

Congratulations to the Tasmanian contingent. Tassie is proud of you!
