Kingborough Gymsports Passes 2500 Member Mark!

Kingborough Gymsports has recently passed the 2500 registered membership mark with Gymnastics Australia. This is the first time a Tasmanian club has reached this milestone and only the 3rd club in the country.

President of Gymnastics Tasmania Leigh Oswin commented “Kingborough has done an outstanding job being only the 3rd club in Australia to reach 2500 registered members. Gymnastics has seen a huge rise in membership across the country where we just passed the 200,000-registered gymnast milestone and in Tasmania we are looking to break the 6500 registered members for the first time.”

Popularity in gymnastics is also reflected in the recently released data from the AusPlay Survey where gymnastics was the 5th most popular sport in Australia for children under 14 years of age.

Manager of Kingborough Gymsports Robert Riddell stated he “is extremely proud to be able to offer gymnastics to so many individuals. Gymnastics provides an excellent foundation for lifelong heath to its participants these positive effects of the sport develop healthy minds and bodies.”

Kingborough Gymsports also provides activities for an estimated 6000 additional participants per year through school groups, birthday parties and holiday programs. The club is now actively engaged in their next goal to reach the 3000 registered members within the next 2 years.
