Life Membership Awarded at Annual General Meeting 



Gymnastics Tasmania is delighted to announce that three deserving members of the Tasmanian gymnastics community were recognised for their contribution and  service to the sport in Tasmania.

Jo Penny, Ben Kelly and Leigh Oswin were all awarded Life Membership at the 2019 AGM for their noteworthy contribution to Gymnastics Tasmania.

Life Membership of Gymnastics Tasmania is available to individuals who have contributed long and meritorious service to Gymnastics Tasmania (GT). Jo, Ben and Leigh have all contributed significantly to the development, growth and success of Gymnastics in Tasmania.

Jo Penny is a long time administrator, judge, coach, employee and volunteer who has tirelessly work across all areas of the sport in Tasmania. Jo is highly respected for her knowledge, expertise and collegiate approach to sport development, athlete welfare and development knowledge both within Tasmania, Nationally and Internationally. Jo is a long time member of the Trampoline Gymsport Committee who has help grow this gymsport to its strong position it finds it self today.

Ben Kelly has been instrumental in establishing Trampoline in Tasmania and has served as the Technical Chair of the TRP Gymsport Committee for over 18 years since its inception. Ben is a current member of the National Commission and is recognised nationally and internationally for his excellence in both  coaching and administration. Ben has coached numerous national champions and Australian representatives and is a leader in the Trampoline coaching community. 

Leigh Oswin's significant service to Gymnastics in Tasmania is across State Coach, State Judging Coordinator, Trampoline Gymsport Committee, Director and President and has been influential to the growth and development of the sport in Tasmania. Leigh's contribution to the Trampoline community has seen it develop in to Tasmania's most successful gymsport, Leigh is highly respected in the Tasmanian, National and International Trampoline community as a judge of the highest standard. Leigh's contribution as both a Director and President of Gymnastics Tasmania  has been done with the highest level of excellence and integrity and highlights his leadership and contribution to Gymnastics in Tasmania.
